The Children’s Center for Dance Education invites the community to experience a magical journey with its spring production of Aladdin and the Magic Lamp.
This classic ballet brings the beloved tale to life through vibrant choreography, colorful costumes and a cast of talented young performers. Audiences will follow Aladdin’s adventure through bustling marketplaces, the cave of wonders and royal palaces - complete with audience participation to add enchanting music and sound to the experience.
Designed for audiences of all ages, Aladdin and the Magic Lamp showcases the dedication and artistry of Children’s Center for Dance Education students, from emerging dancers to company performers.

Founded in 1995, The Children’s Center for Dance Education has forged a new model for a ballet organization through innovative programming, artistic excellence and extensive community outreach. CCDE is a 501c(3) nonprofit charitable organization offering ballet classes to children and adults at our studio located in Evansville, Indiana. Often partnering with local school and non-profit organizations, CCDE creates school shows and sensory sensitive performances to support the blending of arts and education.

Opened in the spring of 2003, EVPL Oaklyn is located on the corner of Oak Hill and Lynch Roads at 3001 Oaklyn Drive. Featuring a green roof that helps regulate the temperature of the building and provides a valuable space for a meadow, the building itself has received national attention and won multiple design awards. EVPL Oaklyn boasts open spaces, study rooms, public access computers, and a popular meeting room.
