Explore sound and culture in this hands-on craft program! Kids ages 6–11 will make a simple spin drum using safe, kid-friendly materials and learn about how similar instruments have been used by Indigenous cultures and communities around the world for music, storytelling, and celebration. The focus will be on creativity, sound-making, and cultural appreciation.
Cultural Note: This program is designed as an educational, respectful introduction to traditional instruments. It is not intended to replicate ceremonial or sacred objects.
Safety Note: All materials are child-safe, and staff will assist with assembly as needed.
Takeaway: Each child will take home a handmade spin drum and a greater appreciation for music traditions from around the world.
