Celebrate the Year of the Horse! There will be food, crafts, and fun, in partnership with USI Chinese International Students and featuring a special performance by the Eykamp String Quartet.
All ages are invited to this celebration of Lunar New Year 2026. From 1:00-2:00 PM in the Browning Room, engage with Chinese International Students from the University of Southern Indiana through paper cutting crafts, calligraphy, dragon dancing and more. Learn about the traditions of Lunar New Year from food to festivities. At 2:00 PM, make your way to EVPL Central's lobby for a special performance by the Evansville Philharmonic's Eykamp String Quartet, featuring works by Asian and Asian-American composers including Hiroki Kikuta, Nobuo Uematsu, Albert Wang, and Soon Hee Newbold. Check out our community wish tree, based on the tradition from Lam Tsuen in Hong Kong, and add your own wish for the New Year.
