The 1925 Tri-State Tornado had a devastating impact spread over Missouri, Illinois, and Indiana, killing nearly 700 people (a record for a tornado), and injuring over 2200 more. Overall, 15,000 houses were destroyed. In Indiana, Posey, Gibson, and Pike Counties were the most affected.
