The struggle for civil rights was one of the most significant political movements in postwar America. In this illustrated presentation, Dr. James MacLeod, a professor at the University of Evansville, will explore the largely untold story of the fight for civil rights in Evansville. He will highlight the many vital local battles that aimed to create a more equitable society. This presentation is aimed at a teen audience and part of the EVPL's first annual lecture series in honor of Historic Preservation Month. MacLeod is the author of Lost Evansville, a history of Evansville in post WW2 period.
