Join EVPL Central for an opportunity to "Upcycle" your Denim! Local Artisan Emily Gartner will guide 12 attendees through simple steps to embellish and decorate your favorite denim jacket or jeans.
Emily Gartner, Voted "Best Local Artisan" by Evansville Living magazine, will be here teaching us methods of "Upcycling" denim from our closets. It's a Fun Fall Project and we're excited to have Emily here to share some of her 'Drab to Fab' skills. You can find her wearable art fashions at www.EmilyGartner.com.
Bring a denim jacket or jeans and be prepared to be wowed with a few options to artify basics. We'll be using fabric paints, stencils, and simple sewing to embellish your clothing and make it a brand new staple of your closet.
The event will take place in The River Room, adjacent to the READ center, so bring your ideas (and wear clothing you aren't afraid to get a little paint on). EVPL will provide fabric paint pens, stencils, sewing notions, and sewing machines. Experience is not required, as artists and seamstresses will be available to provide guidance and assistance as needed.
**Participation is limited to the first 12 to register, so please remember to reserve your spot!**
